The patient-identified problems:
Officially sign up for the 'classroom' so you can get notified (by real patients leading this project) when new learning materials & experiences are available!
Through peer-led education, guidance, and mentorship, we will help others, like us, affected by AiArthritis diseases feel more confident they understand and identify issues that can block their access to treatments and provide them with tools to use their stories to help us change it.
There are two levels to our classrooms:
Patient/Peer-led education, guidance, and mentorship online through easy to understand videos, webinars, and discussion groups.
Forced trial and failure of other treatments before health plan will let you access what the doctor prescribed.
Manufacture copay coupons will not count and the patient is left paying full price mid-year.
Measurements that compare the cost of a drug to perceived value of its benefit. Designed for general populations.
Access to new treatments is necessary for disease groups, like ours, where subgroup responses vary from larger disease group.
* One topic is USA specific (Accumulator), but the other three are access issues that can happen in different forms all over the world. Also, those patients and supporters who join this program will gain access to a private online forum where you can talk about all kinds of issues related to your access to therapy (pharma and non-pharma). As we are led by patients, we will be part of the conversation, too - and from those conversations we can find more issues and try to help with those also.
One of the most powerful tools for changing legislation is to hear about issues that get in the way of your access to healthcare. Whether you want the opportunity to speak to legislators or just want to share your story with us and let our representatives get the stories to the right people, your voice matters! SIGN UP TODAY!
The following groups have donated resources to our Education = Empowerment library. Some materials are incorporated into the learning activities, while others are added to a recommended reading list. Check back for more collaborators joining regularly! If you have great public policy resources for us to share with patients, please contact tiffany@aiarthritis and put K = E Project Resources in the Subject Line.
