Ami Patel is a highly skilled management professional with over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit, healthcare, and higher education sectors. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Clinical Education and Research at the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF), Ami is responsible for overseeing
the development and implementation of national educational programs for healthcare professionals focused on osteoporosis care. Her role involves managing business development, educational content, and creating interactive communities of practice across the U.S., driving BHOF’s mission to enhance patient outcomes.
Ami’s expertise extends across accreditation processes, grants management, and educational technology, with a proven track record of leading complex, multifaceted projects. Prior to joining BHOF, she held significant positions at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she managed multi-million
dollar research portfolios, and Susan G. Komen, overseeing over 600 research grants. Earlier in her career, Ami worked at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), where she contributed to the development of CME (Continuing Medical Education) programs and supported the organization’s ACCME accreditation efforts, helping to shape high-quality educational initiatives for healthcare professionals.
Ami holds an MBA in Business Administration and an MA in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies from La Salle University, as well as a BA in International Area Studies from Drexel University. Her strong academic foundation and extensive experience have equipped her to navigate the challenges of healthcare education, research management, and organizational leadership. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Ami served on the Board of the United States Bone and
oint Initiative (USBJI) and has contributed to advisory panels, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), on hormones, menopause, and midlife health. Her leadership and commitment to improving healthcare education make her a vital asset to the AiArthritis Board,
where she will continue to advocate for those living with autoimmune arthritis.
